From Rural Roots to Entrepreneurial Success

Born in Heilongjiang in 1984, Yu Jing came to Shenzhen after graduating in 2007. A year later, she and her husband Song Zhe, originally from Henan, began their entrepreneurial journey together.

“We both started from scratch,” Yu recalls. “Coming from rural backgrounds, we had limited knowledge and resources, and faced many challenges. But with Song’s vision and determination, and by seizing opportunities from supportive clients, we grew step by step.”

Yu describes her husband as persistent and strategic, while she focuses on execution—supply chain, operations, and internal management. She credits their progress to three factors:

The Story Behind the Name “Yue Jia Hong”

Yu shares an anecdote about the company’s name:

“Originally, we called it Yue Jia, which had a Guangdong flavor. But the name couldn’t be registered, so we added a character to make it Yue Jia Hong. At the time, people often had to write the name on checks, and clients joked it was too complicated. Later, Song came up with the simpler homophone Yue Jia Hong (meaning ‘ever more prosperous’). It was catchy, easy to write, and symbolized our ambition to go beyond Guangdong and expand nationwide. The trademark was approved, and the name stuck.”

Its products are widely applied in human presence detection, occupancy monitoring, and smart home solutions. To date, Easy Detek has shipped more than 80 million radar modules, partnering with top-tier lighting, home appliance, and building automation brands.

Yu highlights that Easy Detek and Yue Jia Hong share the same Shenzhen headquarters, nearly 4,000 m² in size. She affectionately refers to her husband, who is chairman of both companies, simply as “Boss Song.”

On balancing marriage and business, Yu reflects:

The company also runs as a shared equity platform, where long-serving employees can become shareholders. Many team members have been with the company for five or ten years, and even those who move on often remain close friends.
