Chinese Researchers Develop FLEXI Series Fully Flexible Digital In-Memory Computing Chip Based on LTPS TFTs

International Tech News:

1. Due to tight supply and surging prices of raw materials such as fiberglass cloth, Japanese semiconductor materials manufacturer Resonac announced that it will raise prices of printed circuit board materials including copper-clad laminates by more than 30% starting March 1.

2. Seagate Technology reported revenue of USD 2.825 billion for Q2 of fiscal year 2026, and stated that its nearline HDD production capacity for 2026 has been fully booked.

3. SK Keyfoundry has launched its fourth-generation 200V high-voltage 0.18-micron (µm) BCD process and plans to achieve mass production within the year.

4. Data from the Japan Semiconductor Manufacturing Equipment Association (SEAJ) shows that Japan’s chip equipment sales increased 14% year-on-year in 2025 to JPY 5.0585 trillion, surpassing the JPY 5 trillion mark for the first time.

5. Tesla will cease production of the Model S and Model X, and plans to use its Fremont, California factory to produce the Optimus humanoid robot.

Domestic Tech News:

1. Xiwang has released its inference GPU product Qiwang S3 for next-generation AI inference scenarios, with overall cost-performance improved by more than 10 times compared with the previous generation.

2. Real estate company Yingxin Development announced that it plans to acquire 60% equity of Changxing Semiconductor for CNY 520 million in cash.

3. Qin Xianghong, Chief Engineer of Kinghelm (www.kinghelm.com.cn), will conduct a product training session this Saturday, continuously empowering the team with knowledge and providing in-depth interpretation of the company’s core product features and technologies.

4. Huanghe Whirlwind has successfully developed the largest domestically mass-producible 8-inch heat spreader wafer, and the company’s heat spreader production workshop is scheduled to enter mass production in February this year.

5. Chinese researchers have successfully developed the FLEXI series fully flexible digital in-memory computing chip, which is based on low-temperature polycrystalline silicon thin-film transistors (LTPS TFTs). The chip is as thin as a cicada’s wing and can be bent freely.

6. According to the Shanghai Securities News, Kweichow Moutai has denied participating in the Series A pre-IPO financing of SpaceX, a company under Elon Musk.
