Surging Demand for Automotive Electronics Drives Samsung Electro-Mechanics’ Tianjin MLCC Plant to Full Capacity with 24/7 Operations

International Tech News:

1. Vietnam’s FPT and Viettel have jointly announced the development of 28nm–32nm semiconductor chips aimed at AI edge computing applications.

2. Severe snowstorms in Aomori Prefecture, Japan, have disrupted the supply of probe cards and silicon carbide (SiC) materials, potentially impacting the global semiconductor supply chain.

3. Tesla’s sales in Europe continue to decline. In January this year, Tesla’s sales in France fell by 42% to only 661 vehicles, while vehicle registrations in Norway dropped by 88%.

4. Surging demand for automotive electronics has driven Samsung Electro-Mechanics’ Tianjin plant to operate its MLCC (Multi-Layer Ceramic Capacitor) production lines at full capacity, with approximately 8,000 workers running 24-hour continuous operations.

5. SAIMEMORY has reached a cooperation agreement with Intel, under which the two parties will jointly promote the commercialization of a new memory technology known as Z-Angle Memory.

1. SMIC (Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation) has established an Advanced Packaging Research Institute at its Shanghai headquarters, supporting the localization and independent control of China’s semiconductor industry chain.

2. According to data released by relevant authorities, China’s integrated circuit output reached 484.3 billion units in 2025, while revenue from large-scale electronic information manufacturing enterprises totaled RMB 17.4 trillion, with profits increasing by 19.5% year-on-year.

3. Recently, Song Shiqiang, General Manager of Kinghelm & SLKOR (www.slkormicro.com), has placed strong emphasis on strengthening the sales team, achieving remarkable results that have steadily driven sales growth and supported the company’s full push toward new targets for 2026.

4. Ultratrend Technologies Inc. announced the implementation of a new pricing system, with AIN single-crystal substrate products seeing price reductions of up to over 60% across the entire series.

5. The first-generation Xiaomi SU7 has officially been discontinued. Since its launch in March 2024, cumulative deliveries have exceeded 360,000 units.

6. According to Nikkei Asia, China’s memory chip manufacturers ChangXin Memory Technologies (CXMT) and Yangtze Memory Technologies Co. (YMTC) are building new fabs and launching large-scale capacity expansion projects.
