Integrating Theory and Practice – My Mutual Journey with Kinghelm

As I packed up my personal belongings on my desk, restoring the neatness of the first day I arrived, the glass curtain walls of the Star River Twin Towers outside the window reflected the dazzling sunlight, signaling the end of my two-month internship at Kinghelm Electronics in Shenzhen (www.kinghelm.net). As a sophomore majoring in Economics at Han Mountain Normal University, this initial work experience not only allowed me to touch the real texture of business but also surprised me by how the knowledge I learned in class—such as marketing and supply-demand relations—could actually become useful tools for analyzing daily work.

A New Field to Explore

When I first entered Kinghelm, the world of electronic components was like a new book waiting to be unlocked for me, someone from a liberal arts background. The nervousness I felt while rehearsing my self-introduction outside the company contrasted sharply with the bright office area and orderly work rhythm I encountered after pushing open the door. The warm water and product brochure handed to me by the receptionist immediately closed the distance between me and Kinghelm. Thanks to Mr. Song Shiqiang, the General Manager, for the opportunity to enter this practical field where theory truly comes to life.

Key Tasks and Personal Growth

During my internship, three key tasks helped me gain a comprehensive understanding of the workplace. While writing the "Product of the Day" descriptions daily, I gradually realized that this was helping clients understand the products more clearly. Just like the product labels in a store, the model parameters and application scenarios I wrote about were meant to help customers quickly find the right "answer" for themselves. When I highlighted the safety and stability of a tactile switch in my writing, I came to understand that I was showing customers "why it's different," and this uniqueness was the key to attracting them.

The process of translating Chinese specifications into English truly helped me appreciate the importance of the "language bridge." Sitting in the foreign trade department, I often overheard terms like "ex works" from my colleagues, which sparked a strong interest in foreign languages. When I translated "tactile switch" precisely or converted "waterproof rating IP67" into internationally recognized expressions, I realized that this was helping the products open doors to the global market. Every time I completed a translation, the thumbs-up from my mentor not only confirmed my work but also reminded me: having one more language skill means having one more window to the world.

My work in optimizing the company’s website content revealed the communication logic of the digital age. The process of enhancing keyword accuracy was like drawing a "treasure map" for customers with specific needs, helping them find the right product faster. I learned that efficient communication really does allow the right products to meet the right customers.

Company Culture and Employee Growth

At Kinghelm, I was deeply touched by the company's commitment to employee growth. Mr. Song Shiqiang, the General Manager, not only led several training sessions on topics like "Kinghelm/Sklor Vis System," "Risk Control System," industry knowledge, company strategy, and industry trends but also gave colleagues opportunities to lead talks and training sessions. Managers like Mr. Song Yuanming and Mr. Peng Huisheng provided product knowledge and experience sharing, while Mr. Sun Gaofei and Ms. Lin Yuanfang offered training on topics like "Apprenticeship Process" and "Handling Defective Products and Customer Communication." The company also arranged for colleagues to attend industry events, such as the "Xincheng Growth Practical Salon" and "Sales Champion Customer Insights" salons, and even invited industry experts for high-level training on scientific project management and finance/tax management. These training sessions greatly improved my work efficiency and filled in the gaps in my technical knowledge, such as during the semiconductor knowledge lectures, which helped me pinpoint product cores while writing "Product of the Day" descriptions. The communication techniques I learned during foreign trade training directly enhanced my professionalism when translating specifications. This collaborative growth atmosphere felt like a win-win partnership, where I improved myself while creating more value for the company.

A Heartfelt Thanks

I want to sincerely thank Mr. Song Shiqiang, General Manager of Kinghelm and Sklor. Despite his busy schedule managing the two companies, he made time to let us interns introduce ourselves, freely discuss, and speak during meetings and training sessions. He even arranged for us interns to have a welcome dinner and encouraged us by offering scholarships for writing internship reflections. Mr. Song once said, "A strong team, a talented workforce—only then can the company thrive. Talent is the key to everything, and at Kinghelm and Sklor, we aim to nurture you and develop your ability to observe and understand the world!" These words and actions are acts of care, warmth, and hope—like a ray of sunshine dispelling the fog, guiding us toward our goals, and fostering a harmonious team atmosphere. This human connection is the company’s most valuable asset.

A Farewell with Gratitude and Hope

As I prepare to return to campus, my suitcase is filled not only with my internship certificate but also with the valuable work experience gained from the integration of theory and practice, as well as the unique memories from my time at Kinghelm. This experience taught me that business is not just about cold numbers; it's about the warmth accumulated through product descriptions, translated documents, and website code. The market is not an abstract concept, but a dynamic process where customer demand and company supply continually refine each other.

As I bid farewell, my best wishes are embedded in the hope for a bright future. I sincerely wish Kinghelm (www.kinghelm.net) and Sklor (www.slkormicro.com) continued success under Mr. Song Shiqiang’s leadership, with their business expanding, flourishing, and going public soon! I wish all my colleagues smooth and happy work ahead. May Kinghelm connect the world and achieve seamless global success for the "Kinghelm" domestic brand, bringing unexpected surprises and rewards!
