Kinghelm Media Visits SKYLAB Headquarters
Shenzhen, China – September 25, 2025 –
As part of its in-depth coverage on China’s rapidly evolving technology sector, Kinghelm Media (www.kinghelm.net) recently visited SKYLAB M&C Technology in Shenzhen to interview its founder, Chairman and General Manager Allen Yang (Yang Yonghui). A native of Chongqing, Yang has become a leading representative of “Yu merchants” — entrepreneurs from Chongqing who are now driving innovation across China and beyond.
Over nearly two decades, Yang has built SKYLAB into a national high-tech enterprise specializing in advanced positioning and wireless connectivity solutions. Today, the company’s products are exported to over 50 countries, applied across industries from smart transportation to industrial automation, serving more than 20,000 industry clients worldwide, including over 40 Fortune 500 companies.
From Chongqing Roots to Entrepreneurial Vision
Mr. Allen Yang (Yang Yonghui)
Born in 1975 in Fengdu County, Chongqing, Allen Yang grew up in a large family where discipline, education, and tradition played important roles. In his conversation with Kinghelm, Yang reflected on his upbringing and how his early influences shaped his entrepreneurial mindset.
“My father always told us to remember our roots,” Yang said. “That sense of responsibility, of carrying forward a legacy, is something I’ve brought with me into my career. Entrepreneurs must have vision, resilience, and the determination to keep learning.”
Yang’s journey from his hometown to Shenzhen mirrors the path of many first-generation private entrepreneurs in China. But unlike many, he has also taken on leadership roles in multiple associations — serving as President of the Guangdong Chongqing Fengdu Chamber of Commerce, Vice President of the Shenzhen Chongqing Chamber of Commerce, executive Director of the China Association for Beidou Satellite Navigation, and mentor to graduate students at South China University of Technology. These roles underline his commitment to bridging business, academia, and policy.
SKYLAB: Positioning the Present, Sensing the Future
Allen Yang: Championing the Spirit of Chongqing Entrepreneurs
Founded in 2006, SKYLAB takes its name from the phrase “Tiangong Kaifu, Qiaodu Tiangong” — meaning “ingenious creation” — symbolizing the company’s commitment to craftsmanship and innovation. The company’s guiding mission is “Position the Present, Sense the Future.”
During Kinghelm’s visit, Yang walked reporters through the company’s digital exhibition hall at its Shenzhen headquarters, where core products — from satellite navigation modules to wireless connectivity systems — are displayed. He explained how SKYLAB has built a full-stack UAV solution integrating hardware, software, application scenarios, and services, reflecting the company’s integrated approach to IoT and positioning technologies.
SKYLAB’s core technology areas include:
l GNSS and Beidou modules with market share exceeding 30% in China.
l UWB high-precision positioning systems, achieving accuracy of 0.1–0.3 meters indoors.
l Wireless communication products including Wi-Fi, BLE, Zigbee, NB-IoT, and Nearlink.
l IoT gateways, sensors, and wearables designed for industrial and consumer applications.
Recognition and International Standing
SKYLAB Achieves Over 100 Patented Technologies
SKYLAB has earned multiple honors, including designation as a “Specialized, Refined, Distinctive, and Innovative” enterprise by Shenzhen authorities, as well as the “China Satellite Navigation and Positioning Science and Technology Award (Second Prize).”
The company holds over 100 patents, and its production capacity — through close partnerships with contract manufacturers — can reach 1 million modules per month. SKYLAB is certified under IATF-16949 (automotive quality) and GB/T 29490 (IP management), while meeting SRRC, FCC, CE, and IC international standards.
Thought Leadership and UWB Innovation

Mr. Allen Yang with Academician Wang Jiayao
On September 19, 2025, Yang was invited to deliver a keynote at the 10th International Forum on Non-Line-of-Sight Space in Beijing, titled “Invisible Intelligence: New Opportunities for UWB Fusion Perception.” His presentation emphasized the necessity of integrating multiple technologies to overcome the blind spots of single systems — a message that resonated strongly with both industry leaders and academics.
During the forum, Yang held in-depth exchanges with leading Chinese academicians such as Wang Jiayao, an expert in spatial information, and Qi Faren, the chief designer of China’s Shenzhou spacecraft. These dialogues underscored SKYLAB’s role as both a technology pioneer and a bridge between industry and research.
Subsidiaries and Global Expansion

In 2017, SKYLAB established 95Power, a wholly owned subsidiary dedicated to high-precision positioning and industrial IoT innovations. Its solutions, including full-domain indoor-outdoor positioning systems and smart safety monitoring platforms, have been deployed in more than 40 countries. Yang revealed to Kinghelm reporters that SKYLAB plans to establish two additional subsidiaries in 2025 to further accelerate international expansion.
Future Outlook: IoT, Sensors, and AI
SKYLAB’s Advanced R&D and Testing Equipment
Looking forward, Yang sees three pillars for SKYLAB’s growth strategy:
l IoT Modules – meeting core market demand in industrial and consumer applications.
l Sensors – enabling the fusion of physical and digital worlds, with applications ranging from smart factories to metaverse environments.
l AI-Driven Scenarios – integrating AI with satellite and wireless modules to create intelligent “sensing and communication” systems that provide real-time, cross-platform data for digital twins and smart management.
“SKYLAB’s role is to be a fundamental enabler of Digital China,” Yang told Kinghelm. “We want to provide the building blocks for enterprises worldwide to achieve intelligent transformation and unlock the potential of the digital economy.”
